Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential hazards and vulnerabilities specific to the manufacturing environment. 

  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and action plans to prevent and mitigate the impact of disasters and disruptions. 

  • Establish business continuity plans (BCPs) to ensure critical business functions can continue during and after disruptive events. 

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify critical dependencies and develop strategies for maintaining operations during interruptions. 

  • Serve as a key member of the crisis management team, providing expertise and guidance during crisis situations. 

  • Facilitate timely and effective communication with internal teams, stakeholders, and external agencies during emergencies. 

  • Oversee high risk job hazard assessments and associated permits to work  

  • Coordinate with relevant departments to conduct regular drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of BCP/ERPs and enhance response capabilities. 

  • Monitor industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to disaster preparedness and business continuity. 

  • Evaluate the readiness of critical infrastructure and technology systems to withstand and recover from disasters, including IT systems, utilities, and production equipment. 

  • Conduct thorough post-incident reviews and debriefings to analyze the effectiveness of response efforts and identify areas for improvement. 

  • Design and develop appropriate policy and procedures related to BCP/BIA 

 

Qualifications & Preferences  

Minimum:  

  • Bachelor's degree in business continuity, risk management, or safety-related field. 

  • 3+ years of job-related experience. (Manufacturing plant experience)  

  • Proven experience in disaster preparedness, emergency management, or business continuity, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting. 

  • Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, problem solving and human relations skills 

  • Able to present complex issues in a concise manner 

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex situations and make informed decisions under pressure. 

  • Experience completing a Business Impact Assessment BIA 

  • Strong organizational and systems implementation. 

  • Proficient in MS Office products. 

  • Strong coaching skills, investigation skills and risk reduction experience.   

 

Preferred: 

  • Industrial insurance knowledge 

  • Experience with crisis communication and incident command systems 

  • Working knowledge of ISO 22301, NFPA 1660 and other relevant ISO standards.

Travel Requirement 

  • Domestic / International travel required. 

 

Working Hours (Shift) Requirement
