Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

[ Environmental facility management]

  • Manage, support, guide, and provide issue resolution for environmental compliance requirements applicable to all facility/function operations and establish, implement and monitor processes to support those requirements.
  • Manage facility compliance with federal, state and local environmental regulations including but not limited to Title V Air Quality (CAA), NPDES (Industrial Stormwater and Wastewater Pretreatment), Hazardous Materials Management, and Chemical Inventory/Hazard Communication.   
  • Manage both short- and long-term environmental compliance planning and permitting strategy.
  • Conduct permitting review applicability of proposed construction, facilities, and/or maintenance projects.
  • Oversee field examinations and prepare needed reports and/or compliance documentation.
  • Environmental inspections, audits, and/or sampling.
  • Environmental incident investigations and implementation of corrective action procedures.
  • Maintain environmental testing equipment and sampling data from various sources.
  • Managing Environmental strategy budgets.
  • Performs statistical analysis, prepares reports, maintains appropriate compliance records and files required documents with various regulatory agencies within stated deadlines.
  • Supervising work of outside contractors involved in environmental consulting, compliance testing, and/or hazardous material removal/disposal.

 

[ Environmental management]

  • Supports development of environment management systems to ensure compliance with environmental regulations. (ISO14001)
  • Interacts with the plant personnel and company management to communicate environmental requirements, identifies compliance issues, implements compliance requirements, and acts as a technical resource/specialist.
  • Acts as the interface between management and regulatory agencies (local, state, and federal) in resolving major environmental issues.
  • Provides training to plant personnel on key environmental issues, environmental requirements and compliance.
  • Prepares and manages contracts with suppliers and consultants for the PJT and routine activities.
  • Develop and recommend solutions to eliminate pollution and environmental hazards.
  • Perform research and report findings on the current environmental conditions.

 

 

Qualifications & Preferences

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical or environmental engineering or related field
  • 5-7+ years of job-related experience.
  • Experience with the determination of air emissions from industrial processes, air pollution control equipment operation, and CAA permitting procedures (Title V).
  • Experience with hazardous materials management and associated compliance and reporting obligations
  • Experience of working on environmental permits according to the legal regulations
  • Experience in establishing and operating environmental procedures based on ISO14001.
  • Proficient in MS Office products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, problem solving and human relations skills
  • Strong organizational and systems implementation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership coaching skills; investigation skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience with air emissions from industrial processes, air pollution control equipment operation, and CAA permitting procedures, reporting, and compliance (Title V).
  • Experience with Industrial Stormwater and Wastewater Pretreatment procedures and compliance.
  • Experience with hazardous materials management and reporting
  • Experience in establishing and operating environmental procedures based on ISO14001.
  • Experience developing environmental policies, procedures, and work instructions
  • Experience with maintaining compliance with environmental permits
  • Experience with establishing or using EHS IT systems/programs
